How To *Actually* Pivot in Life & Business

If things aren’t going your way, you may need to pivot. But how do you *actually* pivot in life and business? It’s simpler than you think.

No matter what preconceived notions you’ve had about life or business – things you could never predict will happen to you.

We’ll never be able to anticipate or prepare for everything. Sometimes we’re dealt a bad hand.
But when you’re able to roll with the punches, assess the situation and effectively pivot – despite your situation – so much can change.

It sounds like a great idea, right?

But how do you actually pivot? How do you create the change you’re looking for?

I spent some time searching for these exact answers, and to my surprise, the answer was much simpler than I expected.

That’s why I know you can do it, too.

Here are the three steps I took to move from confusion and pain → to adaptability and gratitude.

1. Make the choice.
The power to pivot begins when you make a conscious choice: to keep trying until you see change.
It’s about choosing NOT to be easily upset, when you can look for a different perspective instead.

And when the world starts to become too much, choose NOT to get wrapped up in fears and that aren’t true yet.

Because it’s so much better than feeling like you’re being rolled over by life at every turn.
And if you can get clear about what’s really important, then those other factors don’t overwhelm you.

2. Simplify where you can.
If you find yourself in a tough situation, prioritize what’s essential and what’s excess – not only in your finances but also in any relationship that takes you out of your peace.

Simplify the things you have to do and the places you have to be. Clarify your emotional world by healing from the traumas, negative thought patterns and unhealthy habits.

Don’t overthink it. Choose your priorities and stay the course.

3. Live in gratitude.
Think of all the reasons you have to be grateful right now. Go outside and be thankful for the air, the sun, the grass, the trees – find gratitude in something. Then let it grow into your life form there.

Gratitude is like a seed. Plant it and give it the attention it needs, and it will bloom into other areas of your life. Before you know it, things are looking up.

Gratitude is the way to adaptability and positive change.

The Bottom Line

There’s enough heaviness and chaos in this world. Most of that is out of our control right now.
What you CAN control is your attitude, however. Make the choice, prioritize what’s important and live in that energy. It does change – not only the way you see the world but also the way the world interacts with you. Try it. Ask yourself what can go RIGHT today and just see what happens.
